Content DescriptionReturn to Top

The Alice Fisher Community Drama Class Scrapbook consists of materials assembled by Fisher for the Community Drama class (PSp 466) that she took at Oregon State College in the spring term of 1931. The bulk of the scrapbook consists of images clipped from magazines and newspapers illustrating clothing and furniture styles from various historical eras. The scrapbook also contains class notes, a copy of the final examination, and a program for the production of My Fair Lady performed in Portland. Several of the clippings depict stage sets for non-campus productions.

Courses in community drama were offered by the Public Speaking and Dramatics Department in order to provide community leaders with a background in the community drama concept, technical training in stage setting and costuming, and experience with directing and play production.
