John Day is reported to have been Revolutionary War soldier and Eastern Oregon explorer.
Collection includes: Negative copy of Day's petition for land on the Missouri River, 1798; Typescript copy of Day's will, ca. 1820; Documents concerning the controversy surrounding who John Day really was, 1953-1958, from the Idaho Society of Sons of the American Revolution; Photocopy newspaper clipping regarding Day's life, 1960.
