Historical NoteReturn to Top
Dean Pershing's Office Files: Of historical note are the records on the remodeling of the Merrill Engineering Building between the years 1975 and 1983 in order to meet the needs of the College of Engineering. The remainder of this collection deals mostly with the accreditation of the college with national engineering organizations.
Department of Materials Science and Engineering: During the 1969-1970 school year, the Divison of Materials Science and Engineering began its undergraduate program. Prior to this it was strictly a program designed for graduate students. The division's main focus was on the engineering of materials such as ceramics, metals, and polymers.

This collection is derived from a collection of Dean Pershing's office files and a box of records from the Division of Materials Science and Engineering. Originally, each collection was processed seperately and was later joined together under the title of College of Engineering records. The collection is divided into the following two series: 1. Dean Pershing's Office Files, and 2. Department of Material Science and Engineering records. Within each series, the material is arranged alphabetically.
