Summary
Alvin Gittins was a professor of art at the University of Utah from 1947 until his death in 1981. He served as Head of the Art Department from 1956 until 1962. Gittins had also gained a reputation as an internationally known portraitist. This collection contains materials from art courses taught by Gittins, memoranda, reports, announcements, and procedure statements, meeting minutes of the Faculty Council, and general correspondence from the Department of Art.
