Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Robert P. Dwyer, a cousin of the Henry L. Day through his mother, was born January 15, 1916 in Cataldo, Idaho. Following military service, 1941-1945, he was self-employed in Moscow, Idaho, for two years. He joined the legal department of Day Mines, Inc., in 1957 and continued working there until 1955 when he went to work for the U.S. Senate where he remained until 1961. For part of that time, 1955-1959, was connected to the U.S. Department of the Interior. He returned to Wallace where he entered private law practice. He was rehired on retainer by Day Mines on April 16, 1964 and was taken off retainer on April 30, 1971. His work for the Henry Day appears to have been concerned more with Day's outside interests than with the mining companies.
