Historical NoteReturn to Top

In 1968 Roger Mohrlang moved into a mud hut in the desert corner of Nigeria. (NOTE: Kelly McBride, "Gospel according to Roger" in The Spokesman-Review, Spokane, Washington, July 31, 1997.) He had fallen in love with the Bible, and as a missionary in Africa, wanted to share the book that had changed his life. This led to his attaining a doctorate from the University of Oxford and publication of the New Testament in the Higi language of Nigeria (Folio 2/2). Mohrlang's letters to his family from the missions field are rich in the background leading to the Bible translation.

Mohrlang joined the faculty of religion at Whitworth College in 1978 and teaches courses in Old and New Testaments, Paul's letters, New Testament Greek, and Christian missions.
