The ARPANET training video (undated) is a United States Army training video for a Node Site Coordinator working with the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET), a precursor to today's internet. The University of Utah's Computer Science Department's Ivan Sutherland ran one of the original interface message processors (IMP) for the ARPANET project.

Funded by the United States Department of Defense, the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) was launched in 1969. The University of Utah's interface message processor run by Ivan Sutherland was one of the program's four original IMPs. The first operational packet switching network, ARPANET helped to lay the foundation for future data communications, including the internet. The project was formally decommissioned in 1990.

The ARPANET training video (undated) is a United States Army training video for a Node Site Coordinator working with the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET). Although this video has no direct relationship to this region, faculty at the University of Utah's Computer Science Department were instrumental in the original creation and operation of the network. This videocassette has been digitized and is available to view on DVD.

This training video focuses on the responsibilities of the ARPANET Node Site Coordinator, whose job it is to ensure the proper functioning of the Defense Data Network, a network of 60,000 terminal and host users actually comprised of four smaller networks: Milnet, Disnet, Scinet, and Winks. 25 minutes.
