Woody Hite and his big band were musicians active in northwestern Oregon from the 1930s and 1940s. The band was revived in the early 1970s by Hite's brother Don Hite.

Also includes a phonograph record of the "Top o Scott Band," 1945; three issues of the newsletter "Uptown echoes" for 1941; and photographs of a model quonset hut house, circa 1945. Among the photographs are images of Duke Ellington and his band on their visit to Portland, Oregon, in 1941.
