The Roger Fendall Papers document Fendall's role as Head Advisor in the School of Agriculture at Oregon State University and his coursework at North Dakota State University. Roger Kenneth Fendall earned a BS in Farm Crops from Oregon State College in 1960 and a Ph.D. in Agronomy from North Dakota State University in 1964. Fendall joined the faculty of Oregon State in 1968 and held various administrative positions until his retirement in 1993.

Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Roger Fendall earned a BS in Farm Crops at Oregon State College in 1960 and a Ph.D. in Agronomy at North Dakota State University in 1964. After several years at Washington State University, Fendall returned to Oregon State and joined the faculty of the Farm Crops Department in 1968. In 1970, Fendall was appointed Assistant Dean of Agriculture and Head Advisor. Fendall's work as an advisor was recognized and honored with the Dar Reese Excellence in Advising Award in 1983. He became Head of the Department of Agricultural Education and General Education in 1984; in 1987, Fendall was appointed Head Advisor for the Crop Science Department. Fendall retired from Oregon State University in 1993.

The Roger Fendall Papers document Fendall's role as Head Advisor in the School of Agriculture at Oregon State University and his coursework at North Dakota State University. Materials created and assembled by Fendall pertaining to the development of internship programs within the School of Agriculture during the mid-1970s comprise a large component of the collection. These records include correspondence, meeting minutes, notes for presentations, course outlines, departmental internship guidelines, and reference materials. Lists of advisors within the School of Agriculture for 1966 through 1981 are included in the collection as well. About half of the collection consists of Fendall's class materials for math courses he completed as a graduate student at North Dakota State University in 1960-1962.

Fendall's 1953 Public Speaking Award from the Future Farmers of America and office signs with Fendall's name are also part of the collection.
