Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Elaine Cohen and Richard Hopkins founded the Oregon Wine Press magazine in 1984. Both actively promoted the wine industry in Oregon through publishing and involvement in organizations such as the Oregon Winegrowers Association, where Hopkins served as director and Cohen as executive secretary. Cohen was also a founder in 1992 of the Oregon chapter of Women for WineSense, and received the Outstanding Service Award from the Oregon Wine Board in 1990.

This collection, gathered by Elaine Cohen and Richard Hopkins, consists of wine bottle labels, posters, and other marketing materials relating to the wine and spirits industry in Oregon. It represents all of the major wine producing areas, especially the Willamette and Umpqua River Valleys, and includes materials marketing specific products as well as the wineries, distilleries, and the wine industry in general.
