The Bob Zybach Collection consists of business records generated and assembled by Zybach's reforestation companies, Phoenix Reforestation and Zybach Tree Farm Systems. Zybach was a reforestration contractor in western Oregon for 20 years prior to becoming a graduate student at Oregon State University.

Bob Zybach was a reforestation contractor in western Oregon in the 1970s and 1980s and was President of Phoenix Reforestation, Inc. from 1972 to 1992. Zybach earned a BS in Forest Recreation Management in 1991; a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in Forest Ecology, Cultural Anthropology, and Historical Archeology in 1999; and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences in 2003 -- all from Oregon State University.

The Bob Zybach Collection consists of materials generated and assembled by Zybach in the course of operating his reforestation businesses, Phoenix Reforestation and Zybach Tree Farm Systems. The bulk of the records are financial and legal records; correspondence is also included. The records include index cards for references and publications on reforestation.

Related Materials

The Archives' holdings include numerous collections pertaining to forestry and forest products. Materials pertaining specifically to reforestation are part of the College of Forestry Records (RG 139), the Paul M. Dunn Papers, and the United States Forest Service Video Workshop Videotapes (FV P 264). The Agricultural Experiment Station Photographic Collection (P 029) contains images of reforestation of the Tillamook Burn. Oral histories conducted by Zybach as part of his graduate work at Oregon State are part of the Soap Creek Valley History Project Oral Histories (OH 06).
