Historical NoteReturn to Top

The Department of Planning and Construction was created in 1956 with Martin Brixen as director. He served until 1962 when he was succeeded by Bruce H. Jensen who remained director during the period covered by these records. In 1964 the name of the office was changed to Campus Planning and Construction and again in 1969 to University Architect and Campus Planning. It is now known as Architectural and Campus Planning Services. The functions of the office were chiefly to develop and revise the campus master plan, prepare program guides for new construction, and coordinate the work of project architects.
