Edward J. Davies (1947-) is a professor of American history at the University of Utah. His first book, appearing in 1985, was entitled The Anthracite Aristocracy: Leadership and Social Change in the Hard Coal Regions of Northeastern Pennsylvania, 1800-1930. In addition to writing articles for The Journal of Social History and The Journal of Urban History, Davies published The United States in World History in 2006. Two years later he co-authored with Professor Ronald Smelser The Myth of the Eastern Front: the Nazi-Soviet War in American Popular Culture.
