Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Marcus was born in Brooklyn, New York, January 9, 1880. He came to Salt Lake City in 1907. He established a movie theater chain in Utah and in other mountain states. He was director of two Salt Lake City banks. He was a Republican. Marcus was the only Jewish mayor of Salt Lake City, serving 19329-36. Marcus died in 1936.

The photos in this collection were removed from Marcus' papers which were received by the Manuscripts Division in March of 1984, and can be found under (Accn 788).
