- The Governing Board of the University of Utah was known as the Board of Regents until 1969 when the name was changed to the Institutional Council. The Institutional Council became the present Board of Trustees in 1991. This collection covers the transition of the Board of Regents from an institutional organization to a state-wide body, with the Institutional Council becoming the governing board of the University.
