Arthur Prideaux served as the principal of Woodstock School in Portland, Oregon, for 34 years. He was educated at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, and Willamette University, and he began teaching at Woodstock School in 1911. He was a lifelong member of the YMCA, having joined the organization in 1898; and a member of the Palestine Lodge no. 141 of Scottish Rite masons.
