The photographs depict people, places, events, and other scenes associated with the Old Oregon Trail Centennial, and caption information is included. Events depicted include ceremonies, parades, re-enactments, and banquets; the photographs particularly feature commemorative activities in Champoeg, Baker, and Portland. Other subjects and scenes include window displays at Meier & Frank and other stores; horse- and ox-drawn wagons and carriages; ships, including the Liberty ships Star of Oregon and Robert Newell; and Oregon Trail monuments and markers. People depicted include political figures, among them Governor Earl Snell; pioneers; and members of the Old Oregon Trail Centennial Commission: Philip H. Parrish, Charles H. Reynolds, Leo Adler, Francis Lambert, Walter Meacham and Roy Meyers.
