The O. P. Brown papers document the activities of a prominent Bellingham attorney and businessman in the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. The collection includes the personal papers of the Brown Family (including O. P. Brown, Mary Vaughan Brown, Vaughan Brown, and John Vaughan), materials documenting O. P.'s political activities, as well as financial, legal, and business records. Through careful accounting of domestic and business expenses and income, the collection illustrates the cost of living and doing business in Bellingham during the early part of the twentieth century.
