Historical NoteReturn to Top
The Supply Laundry Company, a large commercial laundry business, was located at 1265 Republican Street in Seattle's Cascade neighborhood. The 1917 Seattle City Directory lists Adolph Schmitz as the manager and the motto "Your Family Laundry." According to citiy directories, the business operated at this location from 1906 until around 1942; afterwards the business is listed as the New Richmond Supply Co. until the early 1960s.
The Supply Laundry Co. building was built in 1906 as a one-story brick building. A second story was added by 1918, with further additions made in 1925, 1951, 1952 and 1960.The building housed commercial laundries continuously from 1908 until at least the 1980s. In 2007 the Supply Laundry Co. building was named a historic Seattle landmark.
