The Mass Media, Pop Culture, and Folklore program was a Coordinated Studies program designed by Tom Foote and Sam Schrager. This program focused on ethnography and the relationship between pop and folk cultures. This was a yearlong program; in fall the class focused on the interview and oral history, in winter the focus was moved to ethnographical studies, and in the spring the focus was on the presentation of materials.
This records group comprised of student reports, field notes, journal entries, interview indexes, transcriptions, photographs, release forms, and audiocassettes documents the year long program Mass Media, Pop Culture, and Folklore at The Evergreen State College led by Tom Foote and Sam Schrager from September 1989 to June 1990.
