Morton R. Brigham (October 21, 1915 – December 17, 2001) was a resident of Lewiston, Idaho and the son of Warren Brigham (1857-1940), the legislative founder of the University of Idaho. Morton Brigham graduated from the University of Idaho in 1939 with a degree in wood products utilization, worked for the Potlatch Forests Inc. until 1952, and then became a private consulting engineer for wood product manufacturing plants around the world until his retirement in the 1980s. Brigham was an active conservationist for over forty years and was instrumental in many grassroots environmental causes. He was named Conservationist of the Year by the Idaho Wildlife Federation in 1957 and served as their vice president in the 1960s and 1970s. He worked with Doris Milner, an officer in the Montana Wilderness Association, to set aside the headwaters of the Selway River.
