Content DescriptionReturn to Top

The collection contains original scores and published music of musical comedies, short operas, symphonic works, chamber music, and other songs, scrapbooks, and music recordings.

The collection contains forty five original scores. Most of the songs and orchestral pieces in the collection were written prior to 1938. A quintet for clarinet, piano, and strings, a cantata, and an overture were written later, in the United States.

The collection contains material in English and German.

The collection is arranged in four series:

Series I contains original compositions in manuscript form, alphabetized by title. Entries often contain notes, rehearsal marks, and other corrections.

Series II contains five scores of published music, organized by title of work.

Series III contains five volumes of scrapbooks (and also loose papers) that include programs, reviews, poems, letters, posters and a script.

Series IV contains recordings of two works, "Little Suite for Orchestra," and a quintet for clarinet, piano, and strings.
