- The Ruth May Fox papers (1894-1973) consist of photocopies of Fox's diary and autobiography, supplemented with corrections and explanations by her son, Feramorz Y. Fox. Ruth May Fox (b. 1853) was a Utah LDS housewife and women's suffrage activist.

Historical NoteReturn to Top
Ruth May Fox was born on 16 November 1853 to James May and Mary Ann Harding in Westbury, Wiltshire, England. Her family converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and journeyed to Utah in 1867. She married Jesse W. Fox Jr. in May 1873 and they had twelve children. Fox was very involved in the Mutual Improvement Association and Relief Society of the LDS Church during her lifetime. Ruth May Fox died in 1958.

The Ruth May Fox papers (1894-1973) consist of photocopies of Fox's diary and autobiography, supplemented with corrections and explanations by her son, Feramorz Y. Fox. Other papers, including passages about Fox written by various women, a testimonial to Fox, some stories, a collection of letters from her children, a biography by her son, and a transcript of her funeral service are in the collection.
