Materials compiled by the Women in Architecture Committee of the Portland, Oregon, chapter of the American Institute of Architects for a 1992 exhibit titled "Matri/Archs: Pioneering Women Architects of Oregon." The exhibit documented the lives and careers of thirteen architects. Materials in this collection include typescript introductory text for the exhibit and draft documents providing biographical and career information about the architects featured in it: Margaret Fritsch, Barbara Fealy, Polly Povey Thompson, Elizabeth Kinne, Amy Porter Rapp, Ebba Wicks Brown, Mary Alice Hutchins, Marjorie Wintermute, Mid Barbour, Lidija Balodis, Edith Yang, Margie Largent, and Nina Pence. The collection also contains research materials, including transcripts of oral history interviews; a 1975 thesis by Roberta June Arnett, titled "Female and male images in the built environment: a study of dominant cultural images in architecture, and women architects in Oregon"; and a 1987 thesis by Hannah Gwynne Jay, titled "Women architects in the northwest: from the pioneers to the present practitioners."
