Content DescriptionReturn to Top

Album containing 104 black and white photographs by an unidentified photographer or photographers, dating to approximately 1930-1935. The images primarily depict landscape scenes in Oregon, particularly the Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood, as well as the Cannon Beach area on the Oregon coast. Unidentified people are present in some of the photographs, including scenes of people using cameras. Images of the Gorge particularly feature waterfalls and rock formations, but also include the Bonneville Fish Hatchery, the Columbia River, and spots along the Columbia River Highway. Other photographs depict Mount Hood from various vantage points, including some images taken from the Hood River Valley. Images from the Oregon coast depict Haystack Rock and other scenes of sea stacks and the coastline. A small number of images show ships on the Willamette River in Portland, including the USS Constitution, and one image shows a display of geodes, agates, and thunder eggs at the Portland Rose Festival.
