Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Gail Baker is on the faculty of the Science Department teaching biology and botany. She received a BS in biology from the University of California, Irvine (1974) and an MS in biology from San Diego State University (1977). Before coming to LCC, she was a research scientist for three universities - University of California, Irvine, University of California, Los Angeles, and Oregon State University; she also taught for six years at North Seattle Community College. She began teaching part-time at LCC in 1986 and became a full-time instructor in 1994; she retired in 2009 although she continues teaching part-time.

This collection focuses mainly on the Dedication of the Rowe-Love Herbarium, 2004; the Mt. Pisgah Arboretum Wildflower Festival, 2004; the alumni award for Dan Luoma, 2005; selected articles from the Native Plant Society Bulletin, 2004-2005; booklet titled “Flower Structure, inflorencence and pollination, n.d.; illustrated booklets about Field Characteristics, 1976; and Plant Family Flash Cards.

Dan Luoma Oral History, recorded January 20, 2005. Dan Luoma was a student at Lane in botany, 1975-1977. He graduated from Oregon State University with a PhD (1988) and is an assistant professor of Forest Ecosystems and Society in the College of Forestry, specializing in mushrooms. This oral history focuses on his studies and career. Contact the archivist for access to this oral history.
