Content DescriptionReturn to Top

Material in this collection is organized by accession and includes the following material: (lists are not comprehensive)

Accesssion 90.61.M: contains a hand bound photograph album of a hike up the Three Sisters in August of 1916, that includes typed narrative text, and black and white prints of the Three Sisters, of hiking camps, and pictures taken along the trail.

Also included is a handwritten account of a climb up the Three Sisters which may or may not have been the same outing. The account is titled, "Chapter IV, Climbing the Three Sisters," and so this may be a manuscript of a much larger work. The handwritten text and the photographs are undated.

Accession 88.25.M: consists of correspondence and printed material, 1894-1923. Incoming and outgoing letters are intermixed, and are written to and from Prince Lucien Campbell (President of the University of Oregon) and Mazama members. There is also printed material by the Mazamas regarding a banquet in 1894, a poem booklet titled, "The Cliff Climbers," brochures about Mount Hood Lodge, and accounts of annual outings in 1901 and 1917.

Accession Up 288: consists of correspondence and announcements (1903-1907) between Mazamas members, and letters between Mazamas and Prince Lucien Campbell (President of the University of Oregon), and also a group of correspondence between President Cammpbell, the Mazamas, and W.
