Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Delmar Tingey was born on May 19, 1897 in Brigham City, Utah. He graduated from box Elder Tingey High School and received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Agronomy from Utah State University. He did post-graduate work at the University of Minnesota. Tingey was a pioneer in wheat hybridization, weed science, and biometry. In 1982 he was honored by the USU Alumni Association with a Distinguished Service Award. He died in 1989 in Ogden, Utah.

The Delmar Clive Tingey collection consists of photographs taken while Tingey was a Professor of Agronomy at Utah State University from 1924 to 1963. The images in the collection show research on weed control, the effects of over-grazing, experimental agricultural fields, charts, and specimen samples.
