Archives West Finding Aid

The collection contains manuscripts of novels and short stories, professional correspondence, personal journals, and college material.

The collection is organized by accession/addendum.

The initial donation of 1972 includes correspondence, book-length and short story-length manuscripts, unfinished and untitled manuscripts, and notes.

Correspondence is separated into incoming and outgoing letters. Outgoing correspondence is organized chronologically (1958-1965) and incoming correspondence is organized alphabetically by last name or title and includes publishers correspondence.

Book-length and short story manuscripts are separated into their own section and organized by title. Material often includes notes, outlines, multiple drafts, fragments, comments, and research. Included here is Trimble's Master's thesis for the Master of Librarianship at Washington University.

Unfinished manuscripts are also organized by title and may include multiple versions, notes, fragments and drafts.

There are over 300 pages of untitled manuscripts. Additional notes are also available.

The 1973 addendum contains incoming and outgoing correspondence (1962-1965) and includes publisher correspondence.

The 1974 addendum consists of two unpublished manuscripts that include plot outlines and notes, drafts, and corrections. Titles are Jessamyn and Star Walker.

The 1976 addendum consists of manuscript material, college transcripts and course work, and personal journals. Many of the works in this addendum are science fiction stories. Manuscript material includes, drafts, outlines, and related correspondence.

College material includes transcripts from three universities, and course work from the University of Washington.

Personal journals entries are often not in chronological order. Journals are dated pre-1943 and undated; 1951; 1954; 1970. Journal entries include travel diaries, original poetry under the non de plume Conrad J., cartoons, and commentary.
