- The Boards of Regents historically served as the governing body of the University of Utah. In 1969 the name was changed to the Institutional Council (The State Board of Higher Education adopted the State Board of Regents). In 1991 the name was changed to the Board of Trustees. This collection mainly contains meeting minutes of the Institutional Council from its beginning in 1969 until 1991. One linear foot of material comes from Board of Regents meetings dating from 1958 to 1967.
