In most cases the chain of ownership of the albums in this collection is unknown. Where previous ownership is known or suspected a note has been made in the description of the album. A number of the albums were likely donated by Dr. Caroline McGill of Butte, Montana, in 1952.

Acquisition Information

In many cases there is no information about who donated an album to the Archives. When ownership information is known or suspected a note has been made in the description of the album. The majority of the albums were likely acquired prior to the 1970s by the UM Museum and / or the university's Museum and Northwest History Collection, the precursors to the Archives.

Future Additions

It is possible that additional photo albums will be added to this collection in the future.

This is an album of images affixed to black paper. The majority of the images are of scenery and are unidentified. One image is of the railroad depot in Granger, Wyoming, and another is of the depot in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The final photos are of a circus parade on Higgins Avenue in Missoula, Montana. Businesses in the images include the Golden Rule, the Oxford and the Northern Pacific railroad depot.
